Mobilmet 414 is a non-corrosive, multi-metal cutting oil developed to provide improved machining efficiency. It is light in colour which improves the visibility of the workpiece and tools and is non-corrosive to copper and copper alloys. Mobilmet 414 reduces cutting resistance, improves the surface finish and protects tools from wear by the use of extreme pressure and antiwear additives. The product has been formulated using highly refined base stocks and chemically stable additives that ensure high levels of oxidation resistance and thermal stability.

Mobilmet 414 is recommended for machining operations of all types on aluminium and aluminium alloys, magnesium and magnesium alloys, copper, brass and bronze. It is also suggested for turning, boring drilling reaming and automatic machining of nickel alloys, nitralloy steels, cast iron and alloy steels up to 200 Brinell hardness.
