Mobil 1 5W-30 with SuperSyn has been improved to provide even more performance reserve, excellent for turbo charged engines that require a 30 weight or GF-4 engine oil. Mobil 1 5W-30 is specified for use in Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) V8 engines with the new General Motors all alloy motors. Mobil 1 5W-30 is the only oil used in initial fill and recommended by HSV for the Gen III and IV engines.
This specification is noted on the engine oil cap. It is also specifically recommended for use in, and is initial fill for Corvette and Cadillac.

In addition to the benefits listed above, the ultimate high performance synthetic engine oil, Mobil 1 0W-40 with SuperSyn, provides significantly greater fuel savings. It is the only 40 weight oil made by Mobil that meets the stringent ILSAC GF-3 fuel economy specifications. Normally a lower viscosity oil is required in order to achieve this.

Mobil 1 0W-40 also exceeds the engine oil requirements of BMW, Mercedes-Benz and is initial fill for all Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicles. Whilst Porsche may approve other oils for use in their vehicles, the oil they approve as the initial fill and recommend for service fill is Mobil 1 0W-40.
